Genna Bongiovanni 2010 Cobra Jet Stocker

Anthony Bongiovanni picked up his 3rd B & B built Mustang recently, this one will be driven by his soon to be 18 year old daughter, Genna. She's been getting her feet wet running a Junior Dragster since she was 13 years old and is now itching to move up and run Stock in the new Cobra Jet.

The Bongiovanni family will be racing in the Northeast Division 1 and will be debuting the new car in Division 2 Races in Florida in J/SA Stock Eliminator.

Gary Richards picked up his two new 2010 Cobra Jets, a Stocker that is race ready and his Super Stocker which is heading back home for Paint and Wiring.

November Racing Update

Jeff Lopez, NHRA Division 4 Multi-Class Winner
Jeff Lopez Wins Double Wallys

Lopez Scores Rare Double Wally Win

Jeff Lopez scored a double class win at Thunder Valley Raceway Park, Noble Oklahoma during the NHRA Division 4 race on November 4th. He won both Super Comp and Super Gas, making his haul up from Bedford, Texas well worth the effort.

Not a stranger to multi-class racing, Lopez almost got a double earlier this year at the Texas Motorplex where he won in Super Gass, and went to the quarterfinals in Super Comp. Jeff's Super Gas 63 Corvette is a B & B built car that he bought from Heidi Robinson a couple years ago.

Congratulations Jeff!!

Holder Wins Extreme Drag Radial at SCSN

Roger Holder took home the PSCA Extreme Drag Radial Win at this years Street Car Supernationals in Las Vegas, and we think he's probably nailed the PSCA class championship as well, although the points haven't been officially updated yet. If he does, that will make him a back to back champion, the first in Xtreme Drag Radial Class.

Holder's no stranger to championships, he was also the 2007 PSCA XDR Champ and the 2007 WCHRA True 10.5 Champ and has already won the 2010 West Coast Hot Rod Association True 10.5 Championship.

This season is his first year in a B & B Race Car, and we're proud to see he's continuing to dominate XDR and TT5 on the West Coast.

Congratulations Roger on your win and championships this season!

New 69 Camaro Cynergy Body in Stock There are plenty of new projects underway at B & B this month, including a new 1969 Cynergy Body Camaro that is ready to build, and we also have one more 2010 Challenger underway.

Darren wants to build the Camaro for himself, but we're already getting questions about it, so he may have to do without for a while longer!

Joe Garbarine's New Cobalt for GT/AA Joe Garbarine from Neptune, NJ just picked up his brand new B & B Cobalt. The striking blue and yellow paint job is a Scott Brown Design, which was also painted by Scott in the B & B Paint Shop. Joe's going to running the Cobalt in GT/AA - look for records to fall!!!

Click the picture to see more of his new car.

B & B Hot Cars Roll Out in August

Lloyd Wofford - 1968 Cuda Finished

Lloyd Wofford's Hemi Cuda is Finished!

In one of the longest builds we've ever undertaken here at B & B Race Cars, we're proud to announce that Lloyd Wofford's SS/AH 1968 Wescott Powered Hemi Barracuda is finally finished. This wasn't "just" a typical race car build, but also a ground up restoration project as well. The Cuda started out being completely stripped, then sent out for e-coating before we even got started on the chassis, interior and paint. The beautiful paint job was designed and painted by Scott Brown with assistance from the B & B Paint Shop, but pictures don't do it justice. After you look at the shots below, you'll understand the level of detail and care that went into this build, and we have to say it's absolutely stunning to see in person.

Lloyd's been away from Drag Racing for 27 years, and just recently got back in the driver's seat about the time he brought the Cuda in. Last year he teamed up with Sonny Stancil and James Caro to do some racing. He bought Sonny Volare and started getting some practice in while his Cuda was getting built...After all, sitting on the sidelines that long can make anyone a little rusty. Lloyd used to campaign a 1965 Belevdere in SS/BA from 1977 to 1980 and he set two nationals records back in 1979 with the old car. Technology has improved a lot since then, and we think it's safe to say the his "new" 1968 Cuda with it's Wescott Hemi and Pro-Trans transmission is going to be one serious contender in SS/AH very soon! We're testing next weekend to get ready for INDY...

Richard's and McMullen cars finished

Gary Richards picking up New Cobra and John McMullen's New Challenger

Gary Richard's 2010 Cobra Mustang and John McMullen's Challenger also left the shop this week.

July News

Roy Johnson - NHRA Best Appearing Award

Johnson goes to Semifinal's first time out

Roy Johnson made it to the Stock Eliminator Semifinals at Bristol at his very first race in three decades. Roy got a red light in the semi's, but hey after that long out of the seat at least nobody can say he was late on the tree! Roy also received the NHRA Best Appearing for his 2010 Dodge Challenger that is painted nearly the same as his old car he used to race.

We're not sure when he'll be out again, as the engine building work for his son's Pro Stock team demands a great deal of time, but we're sure excited to see Roy do so well the first time out with his new car!

Congratulations Roy!!

New Challengers Arrive

We just received 3 more 2010 Dodge Drag Pak Challengers, and we're ready to build them out into NHRA Stock or Super Stock configuration. Call us today to make one of these cars your next race car!

We've also got two Cobalts ready to be built. One's on the jig right now and is configured for NHRA Super Stock G/T class, the other is still a street car ready to be built into whatever class or configuration you desire!

In other news, we're getting ready to finish up the 68 Cuda for Lloyd Wofford with it's Wescott Hemi ready to drop in. We're also getting the GTO ready for NHRA Unleashed in August which should be a fun event and hopefully our updates will put the car in the winners circle!

June Customer Updates

NHRA Unleased in Atlanta

We took the B & B GTO to the NHRA Unleashed race in Atlanta July 12th and besides the HOT weather, we had a GREAT time. The NHRA put on a great race and it was very racer friendly event. NHRA President Tom Compton even took the time to visit with all the Pro Mod, Outlaw 10.5 and Limited Street Racers! NHRA is very excited to be working with ORSCA on the Unleashed Program, and we were pleased to have been a part of it.

We didn't do great things with the GTO, but it did qualify well, and we did pick up some valuable data to work with. You can bet it'll be even more competitive next time out!

Marcellus Grace picks up 2009 Drag Pak Challenger

Marcellus Grace from New Orleans picked up his brand new Drag Pak Challenger last week.

He's going to be running Stock Class A, do some bracket racing from time to time and is planning on entering some car shows also. Here's a few more photos of this super clean machine.

Thanks for the business and keep in touch Marcellus!!!

Shaking up NMCA in Maple Grove

Don Baskin took delivery of his new B & B Race Cars built 2010 Camaro late last month and didn't waste anytime taking it to NMCA's Maple Grove race where they were running in the Pro Stock class.

The new Camaro was already the talk of the race from the entry gate to the concession stands, but when Driver Greg Delaney proceeded to lay down the 2nd fast pass (8.560@156.81) in Pro Stock qualifying, it was icing on the cake for Baskin! Delaney went on to runner up against his team-mate, Skip Baskin, in the final round of eliminations, 8.575@156.61 vs Delaney 's 8.600@156.65. That's a heck of an outing for a brand new car! Everyone here at B & B is extremely happy to see it do so well on it's maiden race!

(Check out some photos of the new Camaro)

Baskin's new Camaro wasn't the only B & B Built car at Maple Grove to raise a few eyebrows... David Beason from Baton Rouge, LA in his Purple and Black 74 Camaro that we built in 2001, really shook up the Nostaliga Pro Street Competition when he went out and qualified 2 1/2 tenths faster than the field. Beason dropped a 7.288@190 mega-hammer on his competitors, and promptly got taken to the barn for hours of very close inspection.

After emerging totally legal, the car ran like a bracket racer running .28's, .29's and .31's in eliminations slaughtering everyone on the ladder. In the finals he found himself facing #2 Qualifier, Kevin Parent who had to feel the heat after seeing what Beason had been running. Beason got out on Parent at the hit, but broke an input shaft, ending his chances at total domination for this race. Even with a RU finish, he flat laid the smack down on those boys!

Congrat's David.....

NHRA Chicago

James Caro driving Sonny Stancil's Dodge Stratus won Competition Eliminator in Chicago. James beat David Rampy in the final 8.124@162.35 vs Rampy in the Roadster that ran 7.342@152.00. Lot's of high fives in the pits as it was the Stancil / Caro teams first National Event win!

Congratulations Sonny & James!!!

We also want to give a shout out to Justin Jenkins who runnered up at the June 6th NHRA All Stars Route 66 NHRA Nationals in Super Stock. Jenkins beat Brian Weber and Gary Emmons on the way to the final but broke out against Santangelo.

Congratulations Justin!

Daniels Sells Limited Street Camaro

Roger Holder New PSCA Record The B & B Built Limited Street Camaro of Chris Daniels made an impression on Roger Holder from Bakersfield, California during the ORTC Race in Valdesto, Georgia. Daniels car qualified #5 out of 32 of the Baddest Limited Street and Outlaw Drag Radial cars in the country, which made it hard to miss.

Holder, a 11 year shoot out racing veteran and 3 time PSCA True Ten Five champion said, "I have always wanted a newer Camaro for the last few years and when I seen Chris's car I thought that it was one of the nicest cars I've seen". When Holder found out the Camaro was for sale, he knew he couldn't pass up the opportunity and pulled the trigger.

Holder, who owns Holders Air Conditioning in Bakersfield races as a family with his wife Roberta, son Bryon and Daughter Summer. The Team plans on running the rest of the season with the NOS motor in the car, then switching to a Twin Turbo Big Block at the end of the season. He's going to continue to race the car in PSCA X-Treeme Street and West Coast Hot Rod Association events.

Just this weekend Holder surprised his fellow PSCA X-Treeme Street competitors when he showed up with the new Camaro at the PSCA Spring Break Super Show, then proceeded to bury the class record with a 7.367 @ 175.30 blast. He not only broke the record, but he won the X-Treeme Street Class as well! Any way you slice it, that's a heck of a weekend for a new car!

B & B would like to wish Roger luck with his new car and congratulations on his first win!

Chris Daniels will be racing the B & B GTO while construction on his new car is completed.
